Despite the current gloom and doom and to their competitors frustration in the people search and affiliate marketing industries, Acme people search seems to grow with ever more members. However is this because it represents a good opportunity or just some slick public relations and hype?
Using an approach that has raised many eyebrows within the affiliate marketing and people search industries, Acme continues to give away its people search engines for free. Given that companies offering the same or similar service charge it begs the question why?
It's rare that anything is really free these days, especially during these dark times, so what's the catch? On closer inspection it appears Acme are hoping that this strategy will pay off in the long term as people brand their engine and monetize it. So Acme hopes it's system that includes 11 income streams will eventually convince people to join their affiliate marketing program and pay the $29.95 monthly fee.
To be fair to the programe it has to be said that element remains optional and the engine is free and seems to work well. To date somewhere in the region of 350,00 engines have been given away each with a database of 300,000 and which is apparently updated regularly, so if the information provided is correct it appears above board. Tapping into those fore mentioned income streams looks difficult though. It's clear only experienced affiliate marketers will be able to hit the floor running with this program. Although there appears to be comprehensive training via a forum and videos, it's clear that if you take the paid option it will take time to cover that monthly cost.
So on balance the program appears to be legitimate and built on solid enough foundations, the giveaway seems genuine enough, although it's clear if generating money is you objective you're going to have to pay Acme.
